About The Eclectic Whimsy Collection

Eclectic Whimsy is the imagined dream of the boutique's owner, Darby Boyd Wiles.  Darby is a native of Houston, Texas and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University.  Since she was a child, interior design has been her passion.  Darby completed a year of design school after she graduated from college, but her career path took a different direction in directing dance programs for 20 years.  As a dance director, she created entire productions including choreography, staging, scenery, and costumes.

After a successful career in the dance world, Darby has returned to her original dream.  Creating the Eclectic Whimsy Collection has been the most exciting and enjoyable experience of her life.  Helping people make their homes interesting and beautiful with her unique pieces, fulfills her lifelong goal. 

For this reason, Darby Boyd Wiles carefully curates each piece.  She only adds pieces she connects to emotionally. Whether she chooses a piece because of its beauty, history, vintage style or colors, any item she adds to the collection stays true to her design style and her Eclectic Whimsy aesthetic.   Before she adds any piece, she asks herself:  1.  Do I love it?  2.  Will it be hard for me to let it go?  If the answer is yes to both questions, the piece is added to the Eclectic Whimsy Collection.
