Antique German Porcelain Figural Tulip Vases Pair Boy & Girl 8078
A wonderfully theatrical pair of antique German porcelain figural tulip vases, featuring a young woman and man in traditional European-style dress posed beside dramatic oversized tulip blossoms.
Dating to approximately the 1920s–1930s, each figure stands against richly molded blue foliage that rises into a large sculptural tulip-form vessel. The flowers are hand painted in a striking gradient of deep rust red, warm amber, and yellow, creating beautiful contrast against the cobalt-blue leaves and softly colored figures.
The female figure wears a pale yellow and peach dress with a rust-red bodice, delicate gilt lacing, and a soft green hat. Her companion is dressed in cream and pale peach with a red sash, coordinating cap, and small gilt accents. Their mirrored poses make it clear that the two were created as a deliberate companion pair.
The sculptural tulip blossoms are hollow and designed to function as small flower or bud vases, while the elaborate figural forms also allow them to be displayed purely as decorative porcelain.
Each piece is impressed on the reverse with “8078” over “Germany,” confirming German manufacture. The molded construction, hand-painted decoration, and export-style Germany mark are consistent with early 20th-century German decorative porcelain.
At approximately 8 inches tall, the pair has substantial presence without being oversized. Their romantic floral form, folk-inspired figures, and exuberant color palette make them especially appealing for Cottagecore, Grandmillennial, Rococo Revival, French Country, European antique, maximalist, and collected eclectic interiors.
A beautifully preserved matched pair with exceptional charm and wonderful symmetry when displayed together.
