RHUMPPILA FINLAND “NORTHERN LIGHTS” REVONTULET ICE GLASS BOWL – LARGE MID-CENTURY MODERN CENTERPIECE

This striking vintage glass centerpiece bowl is part of the celebrated Revontulet (“Northern Lights”) series, designed by Tauno Wirkkala for Humppila Glass, Finland in the late 1960s–early 1970s. A true showpiece of Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern design, the jagged crystalline edges evoke the shimmer of the aurora borealis and the rugged beauty of natural ice formations.

Hand-pressed in heavy clear glass, this large bowl features a deep vertical texture with frosted and clear contrast, radiating upward into dramatic spiked edges. The base displays the signature radial starburst typical of Humppila’s production. Both sculptural and functional, it works beautifully as a centerpiece, fruit bowl, or simply displayed as a piece of glass art.
