This is a gorgeous matched pair of antique Victorian porcelain mantel vases, dating to the late 19th century. Each vase features an ornate form with scrolled handles highlighted in heavy gold gilt, scalloped rims, and finely detailed embossed decoration. The front of each vase is beautifully hand-painted with a central floral panel of vibrant pink hollyhocks against a shaded background, framed with gilt accents.

The pair is numbered 220 on the underside, suggesting a mold or pattern reference, and are typical of the high-quality decorative porcelains produced in England and continental Europe during the Victorian era. These vases were originally made for display on mantelpieces or sideboards and remain highly decorative today.

  • Era: Victorian, c. 1880s–1890s
  • Material: Porcelain with hand-painting and gilt accents
  • Design: Scalloped rim, gilt scroll handles, hand-painted floral panels
  • Markings: Impressed “220” on underside of each vase
  • Condition: Very good for age. Some expected light wear to the gilding consistent with age, but no major cracks or chips noted (please see all photos).
  • These vases make an impressive decorative statement, whether displayed on a mantel, sideboard, or as part of an antique porcelain collection.
