A striking matched pair of early 20th-century majolica-style bird figurines, produced during the Victorian Revival period, circa 1910–1940. Each sculptural pink bird is shown in an animated pose with raised wings and expressive modeling, perched atop curving green stems accented with dimensional ivory flowers.
These figures reflect the continued popularity of Victorian decorative motifs well into the early 20th century, when richly glazed, naturalistic ceramics were produced for mantel and cabinet display. The glossy majolica-style glaze, high-relief modeling, and romantic presentation make this an especially eye-catching pair.
When displayed together, they create a lively, symmetrical composition with excellent visual impact.
CONDITION
Good vintage condition consistent with age and the inherently fragile majolica style. Both applied flowers show losses to some of the delicate yellow stamens and small nicks along a few petal edges, clearly visible in close-up photos. This type of wear is very common for dimensional floral ceramics of this period and does not detract from overall display.
The birds themselves are intact, with no cracks noted. Glaze remains smooth, glossy, and vibrant, with strong color retention throughout. Please review all photos carefully, as they are considered part of the description.
