Geronimo Ramos Flores (born September 30, 1947 in Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, Mexico) is a renowned Mexican artist and considered one of the greatest potters of all time. He belongs to the 4th generation of artisans in his family; he began to dedicate himself to crafts at the age of 6. The techniques he uses are Burnished Clay and Petatillo.
Ramos likely made this piece in the 1970s. The process of "petatillo" is incredibly time consuming and requires great talent. This urn possibly took up to three years to create.
This is a rare opportunity to own a true work of art. His works are shown in the Mexico National Ceramic Museum and he has been featured in many TV interviews and magazines. Please see links below to learn more about Ramos and what this piece is valued.
The urn is in great vintage condition. There are a few minor chips at the rim of the piece. Please refer to the photos and video.
I love my latest piece of Mexican feather art. It is absolutely beautiful and exactly as described. It arrived well packaged and quickly. Thank you so much. ❤️
