A beautiful set of three vintage Mason’s Ironstone “Mandalay” dinner plates, produced in England and finished using a combination of printed decoration, hand-painted enamels, and hand-applied gold gilt. This well-loved Mason’s pattern is admired for its richly detailed florals, dramatic navy blue scrollwork, and elegant gold accents.
Each plate features layered blossoms in shades of blush, rose, coral, soft green, and ochre, arranged over a creamy ivory ground. The bold cobalt-navy scrolls are heightened with crisp gilt highlights, while the wide gold rim provides a refined, classic finish. The contrast of deep color with luminous gilding gives these plates exceptional decorative presence.
The underside bears the Mason’s Ironstone Made in England crown backstamp with the pattern name “Mandalay” and the designation Printed and Hand Painted, consistent with mid-20th-century Mason’s decorative production.
