VINTAGE HAND PAINTED CAVALIER WALL PLAQUE WITH JEWELED GOLD ROCOCO FRAME
DESCRIPTION
A wonderfully theatrical vintage wall plaque featuring a dimensional cavalier or musketeer portrait surrounded by an ornate gold Rococo-style frame.
The richly modeled gentleman wears a dramatic feathered hat, lace jabot, embroidered sash, and dark period coat. His portrait is hand painted in vivid shades of turquoise blue, navy, red, cream, pink, brown, and gold, giving the piece the character of European folk art with a glamorous Hollywood Regency twist.
The elaborate molded frame is finished in metallic gold and embellished with sparkling aqua-blue rhinestones. A floral starburst jewelry ornament crowns the top, while an oval blue stone accents the lower frame. These applied jeweled details make the plaque especially distinctive and decorative.
The artwork is signed with a hand-painted “JG” monogram near the lower right. The artist has not been identified.
Perfect for a gallery wall, powder room, dressing room, library, home bar, or maximalist interior. This unusual portrait brings color, history-inspired drama, and unmistakable Eclectic Whimsy character to any space.
